CiCi Alerts was the idea of two individuals:
Kay Garcia McAnally and Carol Pennell.
McAnally is a Bastrop City Councilwoman -
and Pennell is proprietor of the Book Basket
located at 913 Main Street, Bastrop.
Ms Pennell decided to begin posting lost pets'
photos and information on the front door of
her book store. Thus began CiCi Alerts.
Debbie Moore, writing in her article
"Moore about Bastrop" in The Bastrop
Advertiser, gave kudos to them for such a
great idea. Interest in the idea has led
to this website. The purpose of this website
is to complement the CiCi Alerts at Book Basket.
We sincerely hope that CiCi Alerts will
be a great help to people who have had their
loved and loving pets disappear.
We will post photos, descriptions, date and
location last seen, and any other pertinent
information of any lost pet - dogs, cats, etc.
Please forward this info to Book Basket and
this website.
We also will post similar information
and photos on any pets found.
With luck and citizens' help, we hope to
bring happiness by reuniting lost pets and
their owners.
Please be sure to stop by Book Basket to
view the lost pets.
And they have a great selection of books also!
Who is CiCi?
CiCi was the beloved pet of Ms. Pennell and was a regular at Book Basket. Well mannered and behaved, she was a friend of all who entered Book Basket.
